Global Centre of Possibility
Our Partners
Possibility Partners
The Global Centre of Possibility has been developed with the support of our founding Possibility Partners – AUT, ACC, Sudima Hotels, Microsoft, and the New Zealand government.
It is their foresight and commitment to innovation and accessibility that is enabling New Zealand to become a global hub for access innovation and lead the world into a truly accessible future for all.
Be. Lab
The GCOP works alongside its sister organisation Be. Lab in leading and creating a 100% accessible Aotearoa for all. Be. Lab is a one-stop-shop accessibility lab for businesses and organisations of all sizes across New Zealand.
As a design and innovation partner, the GCOP offers Be. Lab and its clients the opportunity to design and innovate products, processes and futures using specific possibility co-design methodology via workshops.
AUT Centre for Person Centred Research
// The Accessibility Index
The GCOP is working in partnership with AUT’s Centre for Human Centred Research to develop the world’s first Accessibility Index. The Accessibility Index aims to measure the subjective experience of accessibility across Aotearoa. It will capture the extent to which people experience the world as accessible, including tapping into their sense of possibility for the future, as defined through our new emergent broader definition.
Using the Accessibility Index, we will be able to compare year on year how accessibility is experienced individually and collectively in Aotearoa. We will also be able to highlight where we, as a nation, are doing more or less well and how this is changing over time. The Index is currently in development and will be released for a pilot phase in late 2020.
The Possibility Fund
& Perpetual Guardian
The GCOP is working in partnership with the newly formed Possibility Fund, which is focused on growing funds and investment into access innovation. The Fund, formerly known as the Minnie Baragwanath Foundation, works with the GCOP to enable a collective approach to identifying, developing and accelerating access innovation for the benefit of all access citizens in Aotearoa and around the world.
The Possibility Fund is a sub-fund held by fund managers, Perpetual Guardian.
